Scridles

Scridles

Scridles is my curious life lab.

A personal map for life in China, things I buy and try, ADHD-friendly attention systems, creative work, faith, family, learning, and the small proofs that turn a wide life into something I can return to.

origin story

Where Scridles came from.

Scridles began as my little corner for sketches, scribbles, doodles, calligraphy, names, language, and visual curiosity. The name is a combination of scribbles and doodles: messy marks becoming signs, playful fragments becoming personality, and loose ideas becoming something I can return to.

The name still feels right because my life is full of fragments that only make sense after I write, draw, test, photograph, compare, and connect them. A street in China, a market sample, a playlist, a prayer, a family call, a camera walk, and an ADHD restart rail can all belong here when they help the wider life become readable.

That is the promise of Scridles now: not a narrow niche, not a polished persona, but a living map for curiosity with courage, rhythm, faith, and proof.

what belongs here

The map is wide on purpose.

Scridles should feel rich because the life it is holding is rich. The shelves help a wide life stay visible without becoming chaos: places, objects, systems, creative work, values, learning, family, faith, experiments, hobbies, and the honest proof that something actually happened.

field notes

China, Yiwu, and places that change attention.

China is not background scenery for Scridles. It is where attention becomes physical: wet sidewalks, shop counters, signs I almost understand, product rows, train platforms, food orders, groceries, receipts, and the confidence that appears after repeating an errand enough times.

Yiwu adds a special kind of education. Products sit in families and variations, and a small object can explain design, business, taste, price, material, and habit at the same time. A market walk is not only shopping. It is comparison training, product school, and a way to notice what the hand knows before the spreadsheet does.

things I try

Objects, tools, tests, and the truth after novelty.

I like buying things, trying things, comparing things, and noticing which objects actually change daily life. Some are tools. Some are tiny comforts. Some are bad ideas that still teach something. The useful part is not the purchase by itself; it is the observation after the object enters the day.

A good Scridles object note asks better questions: What problem did I hope this would solve? Did it reduce friction or create clutter? Did I use it after the first excitement faded? Did it change the desk, the bag, the walk, the morning, the mood, or the habit underneath?

The rule is keep, return, or release. Keep what quietly improves life. Return to what still has a question. Release what taught something but does not need to stay.

attention systems

Rails that help me return without becoming cages.

ADHD-friendly systems are part of the Scridles map because attention needs kindness and structure. A rail is not a prison. It is a return path: a visible notebook, a named next action, a desk reset, a playlist label, a checklist that works in the bad hour, and a way to come back without turning distraction into shame.

The desk lab is where the truth appears. A tool that sounded powerful can disappear because it requires too much ceremony. A simple pen can stay because it is reachable when a thought arrives. The system is only useful if it lowers the next step when my focus is not already perfect.

creative room

Music, art, notes, essays, and learning traces.

Creative work is not decoration here. It is one of the ways I think. Music changes the room around a thought. Art helps a feeling become visible. Notes become essays when enough scenes start pointing at the same tension. Learning in public leaves traces that are honest enough to help someone else without pretending to be final.

Music

Music as a Focus Rail

Sound as a doorway into the first stretch of work, and silence when the work needs the room back.

names I carry

Hamza, 何律生, courage, rhythm, and life.

I mostly write here as Hamza. In Arabic, حمزة carries courage: the steadiness to protect what matters and keep moving when life asks for honesty.

In China, I also carry 何律生 / Hé Lǜ Shēng: as inquiry, as rhythm and discipline, and as life. Scridles sits between those names: courage to live honestly, questions that keep the world open, rhythm that helps me return, and life as the thing all the systems are meant to protect.

This is why the site cannot be only about tools or only about art or only about travel. It is a personal map. The categories are doors, but the center is one real life.

base layer

Faith, family, presence, and small proofs.

Faith and family are not side categories. They are the base layer that makes the rest of the map worth building. If the tools make me more productive but less present, they failed. If creative work gets attention but pulls me away from what I owe, it needs to be corrected.

Small proofs keep that base layer visible. A call made, a prayer protected, a walk taken, a note written, a project restarted, a desk reset, or a message answered with patience can all be evidence that the thread is still alive.

Scridles needs this quiet floor. Without it, curiosity becomes scattered appetite. With it, curiosity becomes a way to notice and serve what matters.

latest notes

Start with these live notes.

The blog map starts with China life, Yiwu market walks, things I buy and try, new experiences, camera walks, ADHD-friendly rails, creative rooms, and the personal values underneath them.

Yiwu

Yiwu Market Walks and Small Finds

Market aisles as product school: versions, materials, sellers, samples, useful restraint, and the small object that teaches a bigger pattern.

Systems

ADHD-Friendly Rails, Not Cages

A rail is a return path. The system is only good if it helps during the foggy hour, not only on perfect days.

Music as a Focus Rail

The first track as a doorway into work, the playlist label, and knowing when the sound should become silence.

visual proof

The site should feel alive, not empty.

The homepage now carries the fuller Scridles picture again: a life lab with generated visual lanes for places, things, systems, creativity, values, learning, proof, and the name story. The images are not filler. Each one points to a real shelf in the map.
